When Hannah and I got back from camping earlier today, I saw that my cousin had tagged us in this video on Facebook. At the time it had like 3,000,000 views on Facebook, it currently has over 6,500,000 views on there.
She posted this comment with the video. "For some reason, I can see you and Brock trying this pose. So if you do, please record it and share with me! hahaha! This is never not funny."
So we watched the video, had a good laugh, and decided why not try it? Better yet, why not try it and record it like my cousin Stacey requested? This was the result.
This guy, Wes, didn't fail. He is closer to doing that move now then he was before he tried it the first time. Like Thomas Edison, he didn't fail, he just found 1 of 10,000 ways of how not to do it. Hats off to you Wes.
Hannah and I had a lot of fun trying to do the same move as Wes did. So much fun that we challenged other people to try it out too. So far only one of our friends has responded with their own video but I honestly hope more people take the challenge and share it. If nothing else, it will bring a smile to your own face and to the faces of those who watch it. It will give you a chance to further develop trust with someone. And even if you end up with your move being more like Wes and less like the original couple, you've done something fun and spread some smiles.

Now I'm not sure if she was thinking that we would look like the example couple that were shown rocking the move, (highly unlikely) or if she thought we would look a lot more like the couple trying to replicate the move (much more likely). Regardless, we had a little more luck than the couple in the top video on this page.
I don't know who this Wes Bennett from the top video is, however I have a lot of respect for the guy from just this one video. Here's why.
1. The dude has a "Let's Do This" attitude. This is the attitude that not only backs every weekend warrior at the Home Depot, but is the attitude that everyone should have. That attitude that anything is possible is the foundation for all things great. That attitude is in every entrepreneur's heart, every little league slugger's bat, and is the slogan for everyone, everywhere who has a dream. More people need this attitude in their lives.
2. This guy has a sense of humor. From his laughter during his movie, and the comments he has put when posting the video on his page, it is evident that this is a guy who loves to laugh. Not only that, he loves to bring laughter and joy to the lives of others. Everyone knows that person, the one who is kind or funny and everyone wants to be around them. Everyone feels like that person is their best friend because of it. In a world where there is so much negativity, we all should try a little better to be like Wes in this regard. Let's share some laughter to make someone else's day.
3. Wes is a great example of trust and teamwork. It isn't easy to try something without this without having a mutually felt trust with the other person. Let's be honest, you have to trust that the other person isn't going to fall on you and smash you like a pancake. Or if you are the one in the air, trust that they won't drop you on your face. Trusting someone can be one of the hardest things to do in life, especially after you have had your trust betrayed before. Yet, being able to trust someone completely is amazing because you know that person has your back, no matter what.
4. A winner's mentality. At the end of the video, Wes states that they nailed it. And they did. Even though what they did wasn't perfect, they tried something, they had a good time, and they tried. I've seen this video before and every time it reminds me that the only way to fail at something is to never try.
